For the Landy Rally event in September ’07 we have chosen to support the excellent work that Farm Africa undertakes in projects throughout Uganda, Kenya, Ethiopia, Tanzania, South Africa and Southern Sudan.
The people of these countries do not want to constantly rely on ‘handouts’ and be dependent on others for their whole lives. They simply want the opportunity to live a self-supporting, decent life, be able to provide food for their family and give their children the best possible start in life.
We became keen to support this charity when we first learnt of “Farm Friends”, just one of the many Farm Africa projects giving essential support to poor rural communities in Africa. A donation made to Farm Friends buys a goat, sheep, bee, camel or chicken for a family. Consequently the family have essential nutritious foods such as milk and eggs and any surplus products can be sold or traded to further boost the family’s income and/or food supplies.

N W Africa Expedition - 12 Jan to 18 Mar 2007
In taking on the challenge of our first expedition we are hoping to raise funds for Pembrokeshire RDA. Many people have already pledged sponsorship/donations and we are extremely grateful. All funds will go directly to the charity and to the children they help so much.
Riding for the disabled aims to help disabled children on many levels. Some learn to ride and progress to impressive levels of horsemanship. Others, with more restrictive disabilities, develop a much greater mobility and balance than they had before joining RDA, which then assists them in their every-day life. And, the rewards aren't only physical. The lessons are mentally stimulating, the horses give the children a new found confidence and, perhaps most importantly, the children enjoy the interaction with the horses and have fun.
If you would like any more information about the charity or would like to pledge a sponsorship donation, please e-mail us via the 'links/contact us' page.
